The craft beer restaurant “Dumki Vgolos” was built in the historical era of the Stalin Empire (1955, architectural monument) in the central part of the city of Kharkiv.
The architects of SVOYA studio were faced with the task of creating a comfortable space for guests, providing areas for different types of seating for guests. The total number of seats is 177 people (which includes bar and bar seating, community tables, sofa areas, as well as areas with chairs and tables that can be transformed).
Ideologically, a synthesis was created between preserving the tradition of the historical decline of the architectural environment and introducing innovative techniques and technologies. Behind the functional zones, part of the hall was given over to the kitchen area and other technical areas. The original console was saved, but only a little time was lost. The spaces of the first and other tiers are more understated and visually look intimate - there are comfortable sofa areas here. Spochatku, on the 2nd tier led 1st way. In order to ensure comfortable operation, additional devices were created from the front side to ensure greater communication with the kitchen. For the comfort of guests, there is a convenient service on two tiers of a well-built beer station. The sanitary facilities were located on two levels. At first, the location was connected with the gatherings and this school was found in the pattern associated with the open historical elevator shafts. The openwork metal structure with soft warm candles on the rough solid wall looks great in the sofa area, joining with the laconic plywood frame of the wall that adjoins. A more brutal SU on another tier of decorations in a monochrome prefabricated block masonry decorated with metal elements with the symbols of beer brewing. The backdrop in the design of the walls is made of vikoristan, plain, parboiled block masonry, plywood and the texture of burnt wood. As an accent element and symbol of the era of Varto, you can see the decor in the appearance of friezes, moldings and wall boiserie cards, made of metal rod. The bar area is organically integrated into the colonnade. The base is individually lined with concrete boiserie panels. And the assortment of beers is presented on an electronic display across the entire bar counter. The two-light space in front of the bar is decorated with two massive chandeliers with 348 beer lights, which let in the warmth of Burshtin’s light in an atmospheric way.
At the end of the hall on the first tier there is a compact stage. The background is effectively illuminated by a rack of beer. One of these shelves is the secret doors in the technical areas.
